MARY KATE & ASHLEY OLSEN
The interweb has been banging on about this story for months, but only just days before Christmas did the magazine actually reach newsstands in Manhattan. Issue in hand we’re ready as ever to discuss. We’re of course talking about Bullett Volume 1 featuring Ford Men’s Ethan James photographed by Nicholas Routzen. The last time Mr Routzen’s photography featured on this page it caused a bit of a flutter, but this time around the portraits are decidedly less controversial. Titled “I Was a Nothing” the story presents our model who opened the Dior Homme S/S 11 show in Paris last summer in muted metallic tones wearing ensembles possibly best suited for the bleak years that are believed will follow peak oil. Two parts editorial, one part Road Warrior, Ethan exhibits all manner of swagger for his second look wearing a feathered neck and chest pieces by Lost Art, trousers by Oak, and Converse by John Varvatos, and watch byVestal. The final look, all by Rad Hourani with Converse sneakers, quite nearly knocks Ethan off his feet as does more generally the inaugural issue of Bullett.
